=== Combat Guide ===

Combat in Atomic Wasteland is turn-based with 3-second rounds.

Starting combat:
  Type attack <target> to engage an enemy NPC.

Each round:
  1. You attack the enemy.
  2. If the enemy survives, it attacks you back.
  3. Repeat until one side falls (or you flee).

Hit chance:
  Base 70% + (your AGI - enemy AGI) x 3%.
  Clamped between 5% and 95%.

Critical hits:
  Crit chance = LCK x 2% (max 50%).
  Crits deal 1.5x damage (more with Better Criticals perk).

Damage:
  Weapon damage roll + STR bonus (melee, each point above 5).
  Modified by perks: Gunslinger (+10%/rank for pistols),
  Rifleman (+10%/rank for rifles), Big Leagues (+10%/rank for melee),
  Bloody Mess (+5% all), Adrenaline (+15%/rank below 30% HP).

Damage Resistance:
  Armor DR + Toughness perk (+1/rank) + Med-X buff (+3) reduces
  incoming damage. Minimum damage is always 1.

Chems in combat:
  Use chems before entering a dungeon for temporary boosts:
  Psycho (+25% damage), Jet (+20% hit chance), Buffout (+3 melee
  damage), Med-X (+3 DR). Buffs expire after 60-90 seconds and
  you'll be notified when they wear off during combat.

Fleeing:
  Type flee during combat to escape. Fleeing always succeeds.

Death:
  No permadeath. You respawn at Haven with 50% HP and lose 10% caps.

Loot:
  Defeated enemies drop items and caps based on their loot table.
